The client applications provide a feature called views. A view acts as a virtual folder that contains documents that meet a specific condition regardless of the folder that they are in. For example, in IBM® Connections, you have a My drafts view, which lets you see all of the documents you have in draft state.
In general, views operate in the same way as folders. From a view results list, users can check out, check in, update and delete documents. Documents cannot be created in views, using any method. Users cannot select a view as the destination of a copy or move operation.
