Symptoms
If you change the desktop ID or
IBM Content
Navigator URL, you receive the
following error:
The configuration information cannot be saved because you do not have the
appropriate permissions or the configuration.ini file is marked as read only.
Ask your administrator to give you the appropriate permissions.
Causes
This problem occurs when IBM Content
Navigator for Microsoft Office is installed for all
users of the system and the current user is not logged in as an administrator.
Only the workstation administrator has the rights to update the desktop
ID and IBM Content
Navigator URL,
because only the workstation administrator has write access to the configuration.ini file.
Environment
This occurs on a workstation where IBM Content
Navigator for Microsoft Office is installed for all
users of the system.
Resolving the problem
To edit the desktop ID and IBM Content
Navigator URL, you must log in
as the workstation administrator.
