IBM Content Navigator, Version 2.0.3     Supports:  Content Manager, FileNet P8, OnDemand, OASIS CMIS

Cannot view recently added content or system items in the web client

Some information is cached on your web browser. If certain items appear to be missing from the web client, click the Refresh button in the IBM® Content Navigator interface or close your session and log in again.

Symptoms

IBM Content Navigator is not displaying a recently added document, folder, favorite, saved search, or system item.

Causes

The items might be cached on your browser, and your browser might not have reloaded certain files yet.

Resolving the problem

User response: Use the Refresh action to load new items. If a user added a document, folder, or favorite and the web client is not displaying the item, click the Refresh button. For saved searches, right-click the saved search and click Refresh.

Administrator response: If an administrator added new system items, log off from your client browser session and log in again. System items include entry templates, classes, properties, choice list data (IBM Content Manager, IBM Content Manager OnDemand), or other items that are cached in the client browser session. Restarting the session clears the session cache and retrieves the new, current information. You might need to restart your session more often in test and development environments if those systems are being prepared to move to a production environment.

IBM FileNet® P8 choice list data is cached on the IBM Content Navigator application server and subsequently also cached on the client. The system refreshes the cache on the IBM Content Navigator application server if the requested choice lists are updated on the FileNet P8 server. You must log out of the client and log in again to clear the client cache on the browser. To clear the FileNet P8 choice list server cache manually, log in to the IBM Content Navigator administration desktop (?desktop=admin) and enter the following URL:
http://server:port/navigator/admin/clearCache.do
