Increasing JDBC connection pool sizes for Oracle WebLogic Server

If an error occurs in an IBM® Content Navigator application during high-volume conditions or long duration transactions, consider increasing the maximum connections for the application server connection pools.

About this task

In general, standard workloads experience good performance with the default settings for the minimum and maximum connection pool parameters. For more information about the default settings, see the appropriate application server documentation.

In the WebLogic Server admin console, the setting for connection pools must be set higher than the default and the size must be determined by the administrator. If the pool size is not set correctly, logins to IBM Content Navigator might fail after a period of time.

Procedure

  1. Open the WebLogic Server Console
  2. Go to Services > Datasources and select the datasource that you want to change the pool size of
  3. Go to Configuration > connection pool
  4. Change the Maximum Capacity to the count required for your environment
