Configuring Process Engine for IBM Content Navigator (FileNet P8)

If you plan to use IBM® Content Navigator to connect to IBM FileNet® P8 repositories and you use IBM FileNet P8 workflows, you must use the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool to configure the Process Engine connection.

Before you begin

Ensure that you are running a supported version of Process Engine before you run this task. In addition, ensure that the version of the Process Engine client connector files on the IBM Content Navigator server match the version of Process Engine that you are running.

This task assumes that you have a configuration profile open in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool.

About this task

This task applies only to FileNet P8 users who intend to use FileNet P8 workflows.

Tip: If you are using the wizard to configure the web application and you want to skip this task, click Advanced.

Procedure

To configure Process Engine for IBM Content Navigator:

  1. Open the following task in your configuration profile: Configure Process Engine for IBM Content Navigator.
  2. Complete the task by using the values that you entered in the Worksheet for configuring Process Engine for IBM Content Navigator.
  3. Click Next to run the task.

    If you are manually running the tasks in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool, you can take one of the following actions:

    • Click Run Task to run the task now. This option is recommended because it makes it easier to troubleshoot and resolve problems if they occur.
    • Wait until all of the tasks are complete and then click Run All Tasks to run all of the tasks that are required to configure and deploy the web application.

What to do next

Important: If you upgrade the version of Process Engine that you are running, you must rerun this task in the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool. After you rerun this task, you must rebuild and redeploy the web application EAR file.
