Configuring a repository to store IBM Connections libraries

You can configure one repository in your IBM® FileNet® P8 domain to store IBM Connections community libraries (also called teamspaces). When users create a community library through IBM Connections, it is stored on the repository that is designated as the community library repository.

About this task

You can use only one repository in your IBM FileNet P8 domain to store new community libraries. When you enable a repository to store community libraries and you have an existing repository where community libraries are stored, the existing repository is disabled. However, any existing libraries remain on the current repository.
Restriction: You can complete this task only if you are entitled to use the IBM Content Navigator administration tool.

Procedure

To configure a repository to store IBM Connections libraries:

  1. Log in to the IBM Content Navigator administration tool.
  2. Select Repositories and select the repository where you want to store IBM Connections libraries.
  3. Connect to the repository.
  4. Select the IBM Connections tab.
  5. In the Community Library Configuration section, enable the repository for community libraries and enter the URL to your IBM Connections server. The URL should have the following format: http://IBMConnectionsServer:port_number. If IBM Connections is configured to use IBM HTTP Server, you can omit the port number from the URL.
  6. Specify any optional parameters:
    Option Description
IBM Connections HTTPS URL If IBM Connections is configured to use SSL, specify the HTTPS URL to your IBM Connections server with the format https://IBMConnectionsServer:port_number. If IBM Connections is configured to use IBM HTTP Server, you can omit the port number from the URL.
Index the community library contents Specify whether you want IBM Connections to crawl the community libraries in this repository to create a search index. Creating an index can affect the performance of the repository.

If the Social Collaboration Search Indexing Extensions are installed on the repository, this option is enabled by default. If the Social Collaboration Search Indexing Extensions are not installed on the repository, the add-on is installed on the repository when you enable this option

Allow anonymous access to public content If your IBM Connections server contains public or moderated communities, you can configure IBM FileNet Collaboration Services to allow users to browse and download content from the libraries in those communities without having to log in first.

Users who access community libraries anonymously cannot create, modify, or delete content.

Important: You must designate an IBM FileNet P8 LDAP user as the anonymous user and configure that user with the Anonymous role in WebSphere® Application Server.

For more information, see Configuring anonymous access to documents.

  7. Specify the users and groups who can administer content in community libraries:
    • Global administrators - These users can create, modify, delete and provide access to community libraries and the contents of community libraries. When you specify a user as a global administrator, the user is given ClbGlobalAdministrator privileges in the repository.
    • Global review administrators - These users can approve and reject content that is under review for publication in a community library. When you specify a user as a global review administrator, the user is given ClbGloablReviewAdministrator privileges in the repository.
  8. Save your changes to the repository configuration.
