After you configure the IBM® FileNet® Content Federation Services viewer plug-in, you
can open and view documents that are federated to IBM FileNet Content Manager from IBM Content
Manager OnDemand.
Before you begin
You must have
IBM FileNet Content Federation Services
for Content Manager OnDemand installed
and configured.
About this task
The
IBM FileNet Content Federation Services viewer
plug-in only enables users to view federated content. Users cannot
complete authoring actions, such as downloading documents. If you
do not want users to see authoring actions, you can optionally:
- Create custom menus that do not include authoring actions
- Assign the menus to the desktops from which users access the IBM FileNet Content Federation Services viewer plug-in
Procedure
To configure the IBM FileNet Content Federation Services viewer
plug-in:
- In the IBM Content
Navigator administration
tool, click Plug-ins, and then click New
Plug-in.
- Enter the location of the deployed cfsplugin.jar file:
- Enter the fully qualified URL of the JAR file with the following
format:http://host_name:port_number/IBM_Content_Navigator_installation_directory/plugins/cfsplugin.jar
If
the JAR file is on a remote server, you must enter the URL of the
plug-in file.
- Enter the fully qualified path of the JAR file on your local
file system. For example:
- On AIX, Linux, and Linux for System z, the default directory is /opt/IBM/ECMClient/plugins/cfsplugin.jar.
- On Windows, the default directory is C:\Program Files\IBM\ECMClient\plugins\cfsplugin.jar.
If you use the fully qualified path of
the plug-in file, you must add a copy of the plug-in file to each
node in your cluster.
- Enter the user name and password for an IBM Content
Manager OnDemand server that is federated
to an IBM FileNet Content Manager server
with IBM FileNet Content Federation Services .
- Save the plug-in configuration.
- Click Repositories and ensure that
the IBM Content
Manager OnDemand server that
is federated to the IBM FileNet Content Manager server
is included in the list of repositories.
Important: The value that you entered for the Server
name field matches the server name of your IBM Content
Manager OnDemand fixed content device.
- Click Viewer Maps and create a new
viewer map or edit an existing custom viewer map to add the IBM FileNet Content Federation Services viewer to the mapping:
- Click New Mapping.
- In the Repository type field,
select FileNet Content Manager.
- In the Viewer field, select IBM
Content Federation Services OnDemand Viewer.
- Add the application/vnd.ibm-OnDemand MIME
type to the list of selected MIME types.
- Click OK.
- On the Viewer Map page, specify the
order in which the IBM FileNet Content Federation Services viewer
is used in relation to the other viewers.
- Save your changes to the viewer map configuration.
- Click Desktops and select the desktop
from which you want users to use the IBM FileNet Content Federation Services viewer.
- On the General page, specify the viewer
map that includes the IBM FileNet Content Federation Services viewer.
- Save your changes to the desktop configuration.
