Configuring the IBM Content Collector Viewer plug-in

After you configure the IBM® Content Collector Viewer plug-in, you can open and view documents, such as archived email, IBM Lotus® Notes® documents, and IBM Connections archives, that are federated from IBM Content Collector to either a IBM FileNet® P8 or IBM Content Manager repository.

Procedure

To configure the IBM Content Collector plug-in:

  1. In the IBM Content Navigator administration tool, click Plug-ins, and then click New Plug-in.
  2. Load the ICCViewerPlugin.jar file by entering the fully qualified URL or the file path to the ICCViewerPlugin.jar file that is installed on the server:
    • Enter the URL in the following sample format: http://host_name:port_number/ECMClient_installdir/plugins/ICCViewerPlugin.jar.
    • Enter the path to the file that is installed on the server, for example:
      • Linux or AIX®: /opt/IBM/ECMClient/plugins/ICCViewerPlugin.jar
      • Microsoft Windows: C:\Program Files\IBM\ECMClient\plugins\ICCViewerPlugin.jar
  3. Ask your IBM Content Collector administrator for the following information that is required to launch the viewer:
    • The fully qualified URL to the IBM Content Collector service, where the IBM Content Collector viewer can be launched.
    • A user and password to use that has read access to the documents that are stored in IBM Content Collector.
    • The ICC Connector that needs to be used. If the default ICC Connector is to be used, you can leave this field empty.
  4. Save the plug-in configuration.
  5. In the Viewer Maps section, create a custom viewer map:
    1. Click New Viewer Map. Enter the details and then click New Mapping.
    2. Select your repository and, in the Viewer property, select ICC Viewer.
    3. Specify all the MIME types to be handled by the IBM Content Collector viewer in this viewer map, and then click OK.
    4. On the New Viewer Map page, specify the lookup order in which the ICC viewer is used.
  6. In the Desktops section, select or create a desktop where you want to use the viewer map that is configured with the IBM Content Collector viewer:
    1. Click the General tab.
    2. In the Viewer map property, specify the IBM Content Collector viewer map that you created in the earlier step.
