IBM Content Navigator, Version 2.0.3     Supports:  FileNet P8

Creating an application space for IBM Content Navigator

An application space provides a way of organizing the resources for using IBM® FileNet® P8 workflows in IBM Content Navigator.

About this task

You must complete this task if you plan to use custom or predefined workflows in IBM Content Navigator.

You can use either Process Designer or the Process Configuration Console to specify an application space to contain the security information for IBM Content Navigator. You also specify the roles of the users who process the workflow activities in IBM Content Navigator.

You define roles, such as clerk and approver to organize the specification of users who process different types of activities in IBM Content Navigator. A role includes security information and access to in-baskets that are appropriate for the role. To make it easier for users to select work, you define one or more in-baskets for each role. An in-basket filters the work items in a queue to display only items that you own or are assigned to process.

By default, all of application spaces that are defined for a repository are available to users from a desktop. When you specify a particular application space for a desktop, only that application space is available to users from the desktop for a specific repository. You can also customize the labels that identify the application spaces in the administration tool.
Restriction: If you change the connection point that was initially configured for the repository that is assigned to a desktop, you must reconfigure the desktop.
