IBM Content Navigator, Version 2.0.3     Supports:  Content Manager, FileNet P8, OnDemand, OASIS CMIS

Customizing labels in the web client

IBM® Content Navigator provides default terms that are displayed in the web client user interface. You can change these terms to terms that your users are familiar with and that match your business needs.

About this task

You can change the following types of text in the interface:
Application-level terms
These are terms such as class or repository. For example, you might change the term class to document class if your users are familiar with that term. You might also change the term repository to library if your company refers to repositories as libraries.
Tip: You also can localize some user-defined application-level labels, such as file type filter labels, by entering a file type category from the Admin Settings tab. IBM Content Navigator adds the label to the Labels/Application tab. Then, you can localize the labels in different locale.

You can change the terms Modified By to Changed By if your users are familiar with that term. If the term Major Version Number is too long, you can shorten it to Major or Major Version. Any changes that you make to the system property display names in the web client do not affect the property names and values that are configured on your repository.

The term with no parentheses, such as Creator, is the label that is assigned in IBM FileNet® Content Engine. The term that is surrounded by parentheses, such as Added By, is the term that is displayed in the web client user interface.

IBM FileNet P8 users only. The FileNet P8 repository must be configured for IBM Content Navigator workflows and an application space in Workplace XT. You can rename your application spaces to describe how it is used by users. For example, if one set of users is monitoring medical claims, you can change the name of the application space to Medical Claims.

All of the changes that you make to the application-level terms or system property display names apply to all of the desktops in your environment.
