Customizing menus

IBM® Content Navigator provides default menus and toolbars that help you customize desktops.

About this task

The Menus section contains the menus that are displayed when you right-click an item. It also contains the menus that you assign to specific toolbars when you are defining desktops. You cannot edit the default menus, but you can create copies of existing menus to restrict the actions that are available. You can also add custom actions that are defined in plug-ins. If you want a new type of menu, you must define the menu in a plug-in.

When you create custom menus, you specify the actions that users can take. You can also create multiple menus and associate each menu with one or more of the desktops in your environment.

Procedure

To customize menus:

  1. Open the administration tool in the web client.
  2. Click Menus.
  3. Click a toolbar or menu you want to edit.
  4. Edit or create a copy of the toolbar or menu.
  5. Save the settings.
  6. Click Desktops and then edit the desktop that will use the toolbars or menus that you customized.
  7. Click Menus and select the toolbars or menus that you customized.
  8. Save the settings.
