Configuring new connection pools using wsadmin

You can use wsadmin scripting tool to configure new connection pools.

Before you begin

Before starting this task, the wsadmin tool must be running. See the topic about starting the wsadmin scripting client for more information.

About this task

Perform the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Identify the parent ID:
    • Using Jacl:

      set newds [$AdminConfig getid /Cell:mycell/Node:mynode/JDBCProvider:JDBC1/DataSource:DS1/]
    • Using Jython:

      newds = AdminConfig.getid('/Cell:mycell/Node:mynode/JDBCProvider:JDBC1/DataSource:DS1/')
    Example output:
    DS1(cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml$DataSource_1)
  2. Creating connection pool:
    • Using Jacl:

      $AdminConfig create ConnectionPool $newds {}
    • Using Jython:

      print AdminConfig.create('ConnectionPool', newds, [])
    Example output:
    (cells/mycell/nodes/mynode|resources.xml#ConnectionPool_1)
  3. Save the configuration changes.
