Using the administrative console to start IBM HTTP Server
You can use the WebSphere® Application Server administrative console to start and stop IBM® HTTP Server.
About this task
You can administer IBM HTTP Server through the WebSphere Application Server administrative console using the WebSphere Application Server node agent or using the IBM HTTP Server administration server. An IBM HTTP Server that is defined to a deployment manager (dmgr) managed node is administered using the node agent. An IBM HTTP Server that is defined to an unmanaged node is administered using the administration server.
You can administer IBM HTTP Server through the WebSphere Application Server administrative console using the WebSphere Application Server node agent. In order to enable the WebSphere Application Server administrative console for administering IBM HTTP Server, you need to specify the -admin option during installation of IBM HTTP Server. Or, if you already installed IBM HTTP Server without specifying the -admin option, you can run the bin/enable_admin script. For more information about enabling the administrative console for administering IBM HTTP Server on z/OS®, see Configuring an instance of IBM HTTP Server on the z/OS system.
