The IBM® Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ provides
a facility for controlling IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ traces
dynamically.
This remote trace controller lets you perform operations like these
for multiple driver instances:
- Start, stop, or resume a trace
- Change the output trace file or directory location
- Change the trace level
The remote trace controller uses the Java™ Management
Extensions (JMX) architecture, which is part of the Java Standard Edition, Version 6, or later.
The JMX consists of:
- A set of built-in management utilities, which let you do monitoring
from a management console such as the Java Monitoring
and Management Console (JConsole).
- A set of APIs that let you write applications to perform the same
functions.
