Installation architecture for DB2 Warehouse on multiple computers

DB2® Warehouse has a component-based architecture that consists of a data server component group, an application server component group, and a client component group. In a typical production environment, you install each of these component groups on different computers to create a complete warehousing solution.
The following diagram illustrates the component architecture of the product and provides a basis for planning your installation across multiple computers.
Figure 1. DB2 Warehouse working with data sources and databases
Figure shows how the warehouse server and client groups are connected to each other and to databases.
Note: Although you can install all of the component groups on a single computer for proof-of-concept purposes, IBM® does not recommend installing all of the component groups on a single computer for typical production environments.
