Upgrading from 32-bit DB2® Spatial
Extender Version 10.1 or Version
9.7 to
64-bit DB2 Spatial
Extender V10.5 requires
that you upgrade your DB2 server
to 64-bit DB2 V10.5 and
then upgrade specific database objects and data in spatially enabled
databases.
Before you begin
Before you start the upgrade process:
- Ensure that your system meets the installation requirements for DB2 Spatial
Extender Version 10.5.
- Ensure that you have DBADM and DATAACCESS authority
on the spatially enabled databases.
Procedure
To upgrade a 32-bit DB2 Spatial
Extender Version 10.1 or Version
9.7 server
to 64-bit DB2 Spatial
Extender V10.5:
- Upgrade your 32-bit DB2 server
from Version 10.1 or Version
9.7 to
64-bit DB2 V10.5 using
one of the following tasks:
In the upgrade task, you must select the installation type
as custom to include the Spatial Extender as part of the DB2 Version 10.5 installation.
- Terminate all connections to the database.
- Upgrade your spatially enabled databases from Version 9.7
or Version 10.1 to Version 10.5 using
the db2se upgrade command.
