Sysplex support

Applications can leverage Sysplex capabilities by either going through a middle-tier DB2 Connect™ server, or using client Sysplex support, when available.

The client sysplex support is the preferred option as it provides better availability, improved server utilization since it eliminates a point of failure, transaction level balancing and seamless automatic client reroute, whereas DB2 Connect server does not.
