IBM InfoSphere Optim Workload Replay

IBM® InfoSphere® Optim™ Workload Replay provides web based tools that let you capture, replay, and analyze production database SQL workloads in self-contained test environments to help you plan database upgrades, database migrations, platform upgrades, hardware upgrades, and network changes.

InfoSphere Optim Workload Replay can capture a production workload, including all the information that is needed for real-life simulation, such as the original application timing, order of execution, transaction boundaries, isolation levels, and other SQL and application characteristics.

You can use InfoSphere Optim Workload Replay to capture database workloads and replay them in a test database environment. You can test database changes by using realistic workloads, which are captured from production environments, to complement simulated workloads that are based on limited test scenarios. By using captured workloads, you can test changes to the database environments without compromising the production database performance.
