DEFAULT TEMPLATE field (FCCOPYDDN subsystem parameter)

Start of changeThe FCCOPYDDN subsystem parameter defines the default value that is to be used for the FCCOPYDDN parameter of the FLASHCOPY option of DB2® utilities control statements. This parameter applies to the COPY, LOAD, REBUILD INDEX, REORG INDEX, and REORG TABLESPACE utilities.End of change

FCCOPYDDN specifies the template for deriving the data set name for the FlashCopy® image copy.

Start of changeFlashCopy technology can be used to create VSAM copies of objects almost instantaneously. It creates a separate data set for each piece of the object that is being copied. FlashCopy technology can also be used to recover the object if necessary, which reduces recovery time and therefore provides greater availability.End of change

Important: You must replace "HLQ" in the default value with a high-level qualifier that is appropriate for your subsystem.
Acceptable values: valid DB2 utilities template
Default: HLQ.&DB..&SN..N&DSNUM..&UQ.
Update: option 22 on panel DSNTIPB
DSNZPxxx: DSN6SPRM FCCOPYDDN

This parameter applies to new-function mode only. The parameter is ignored in conversion mode (from both DB2 Version 8 and DB2 9) and enabling-new-function mode (from both DB2 Version 8 and DB2 9).

If you assign the FCCOPYDDN setting directly in DSNTIJUZ, you need to repeat each ampersand (&) character to conform with IBM® High-Level Assembler rules. For example, you would need to assign the default value above as FCCOPYDDN=HLQ.&&DB..&&SN..N&&DSNUM..&&UQ. (notice the trailing period).
