Choosing the user type
Your security policies or the target server might limit installing software to users with sufficient administrative privileges. You can install Jazz™ for Service Management as a root or administrative user. If your security policies allow, you can also install Jazz for Service Management as a non-root or non-administrative user.
If you want to install Jazz for Service Management for evaluation or development purposes, you can perform the full installation as an administrative or root user only.
Custom installations support both user types. You can specify whether to perform a custom installation as an administrative user in the panel of the launchpad. You can run Installation Manager in administrator or non-administrator mode.

You can install Jazz for Service Management as a root user or a non-root user.
