Removing administrator passwords

The single-server installation uses the administrator password that you provided or the default administrator password to install and configure all of the software components. For security, after you verify that your IBM® Case Manager system works correctly, you can remove the plain text passwords from the installation scripts.

Procedure

To remove the administrator passwords:

  1. Copy the install_path/IBM/cmpit/accounts.txt file and put the copy in a secure or encrypted location. After you create the backup, delete the original file.
  2. Run the pwdreset tool:
    Operating system Command

    AIX®

    Linux

    Linux for System z

    Run these commands:
    cd /opt/IBM/cmpit/install-scripts
    ./pwdreset.sh CMPIT_administrator_password
    Windows Run these commands:
    cd C:\Program Files(x86)\IBM\cmpit\install-scripts
    pwdreset CMPIT_administrator_password

What to do next

If you want to change the administrator passwords, review the tasks in the IBM FileNet® P8 security documentation. For more information, see the IBM FileNet P8 security help topics in the How to section.
