Installing a single-server IBM Case Manager system

After you download and rename the image files, you can install the single-server FileNet® P8 Platform and IBM® Case Manager version 5.2.1 environment. You can run the installation interactively by using the wizard, or you can run the tool silently from a command line by using an input file.

About this task

The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool installs supporting software for the FileNet P8 Platform, configures the required databases, and configures users in the directory server. The tool installs and configures all the FileNet P8 Platform components, including Workplace XT and IBM Content Navigator. The tool also runs the IBM Case Manager installation program, which installs the IBM Case Manager files. Finally, the tool configures and deploys the IBM Case Manager applications so that they are ready to use.

Although the installation and configuration occur automatically and use default values that are supplied by the scripts, the whole process can take two to three hours to complete.

  • Installing a single-server IBM Case Manager system interactively
    The IBM Case Manager Platform Installation Tool installs the supporting software and primary components required for an IBM Case Manager environment that includes IBM FileNet P8 Platform. After you start the installation tool and provide the necessary values, the installation tool runs automatically.
  • Installing a single-server IBM Case Manager system silently
    You can install the single-server system silently by editing the values for the installation the silent installation properties file. When you run the installation program from the command line, the program uses the values in the properties file to complete the installation.
