IBM InfoSphere Streams Version 4.1.1

Toolkit com.ibm.streams.dataexplorer 2.0.0

SPL standard and specialized toolkits > com.ibm.streams.dataexplorer 2.0.0

General Information

The Data Explorer Toolkit provides an operator that enables streams processing applications to insert data into IBM InfoSphere Data Explorer.

Use the DataExplorerPush operator to insert data into InfoSphere Data Explorer v8.2-2, v8.2-3, and v9.0-0. The DataExplorerPush operator uses the BigIndex API to insert data into InfoSphere Data Explorer 8.2-2 and 8.2-3, and v9.0-0.

For each input tuple, the operator converts InfoSphere Streams data types to InfoSphere Data Explorer data types, and then inserts data into InfoSphere Data Explorer. The DataExplorerPush operator does not support the blob, boolean, complex, decimal, enum, list, map, set, uint64, and xml SPL data types.

Developing and running applications that use the Data Explorer Toolkit
To create applications that use the Data Explorer Toolkit, you must set environment variables, ensure that InfoSphere Data Explorer JAR files are accessible to a streams processing application, and configure either IBM InfoSphere Streams or the SPL compiler to be aware of the location of the toolkit.
Data type conversions from IBM InfoSphere Streams to IBM InfoSphere Data Explorer
Conversions from IBM InfoSphere Streams to IBM InfoSphere Data Explorer data types occur in the DataExplorerPush operator at run time.
