The streamtool version command reports version information for InfoSphere® Streams.

Authority

You do not need any authority to run this command.

Description

The command provides the following information about your product, version, and environment:
  • Version: Specifies the InfoSphere Streams product version that is installed.
  • Product name: IBM InfoSphere Streams
  • Build: Specifies the build date for your product. In general, this information is useful only to IBM Support.
  • Architecture: Specifies the operating system architecture. For example, x86_64 represents an Intel x86_64 (64-bit) environment and PPC_64 represents a PowerPC (64-bit) environment.
  • Operating system (OS): Specifies the operating system and distribution information. For example: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.6
  • Operating system version (OS.VERSION): Specifies the version of operating system or distribution. For example: 5.
  • Operating system patch level (OS.PATCH): Specifies the patch level of the operating system version. For example: 6
  • Edition: Specifies the product edition. For example: Developer.
  • Edition name: Specifies the specific InfoSphere Streams product edition that is installed. For example: IBM InfoSphere Streams Developer Edition.
Note: The command returns information about the product that is installed in the path that is specified in the STREAMS_INSTALL environment variable. If you have multiple versions of InfoSphere Streams installed, the command does not return information about all of the versions.

Options and arguments

-h, --help
Specifies to show the command syntax.
--trace level
Specifies the trace setting. The following valid levels are listed in order of increasing verbosity, which is to say that the first level in the list generates the least amount of information:
  • off
  • error
  • warn
  • info
  • debug
  • trace
The default value is off.
-v,--verbose level
Specifies to provide more detailed command output. The vebosity level can be from 0 to 3 where each increment provides more detailed output.
