IBM InfoSphere Streams Version 4.1.1

Assigning tags to resources in a domain

You can specify the tags for a resource at domain creation time, when a resource is added to a domain, or any time thereafter.

About this task

InfoSphere® Streams dynamically responds to tag changes. It makes automatic adjustments to the location of InfoSphere Streams services, which are based on changes to the tags.

For better control of the placement of domain management services, instead of using the management tag, tag your resources with the specific service tags. For example, use the audit, authentication, jmx, and sws tags. To control the placement of instance management services, use the view and management tags. To control the placement of the application services and processing elements, use the application tag.

If you created extra tags for use by your streams processing applications, assign them to resources that also have the application tag. The scheduler service considers these tags when it matches resources against the requirements that are specified in your applications.
