IBM InfoSphere Streams Version 4.1.0

Preparing the Streams domain and instance

Before running your applications you must prepare your system by creating a Streams domain and a Streams instance. If you are using a multi-host environment, you must ensure that the different hosts have assigned their proper host tags to distribute the processing load evenly across your system. Only if your environment is set up correctly your applications will run successfully. A single host solution does not require any host tags handling. Additionally, you should check the accessibility of the configured input and output directories.

Assigning host tags
Telecommunications Event Data Analytics applications use host tags to distribute the processing load evenly across the available hosts, to store enrichment data on all hosts that need it and to overcome CPU or memory limitations.
Check accessibility of input and output directories
Your application reads from and writes to the file system requiring that the application has read and write access to the directories.
