Setting up login module authentication for InfoSphere Streams users

InfoSphere® Streams authenticates users by using a Java™ Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS). You can use the login modules that are included in the product, or you can create your own to customize the security settings of your domain. Using login modules is optional.

About this task

To customize user authentication, you can use the Domain Manager or the streamtool setloginconfig command. To use the Domain Manager, you must have an X Window System installed.

Procedure

Customize user authentication by using the Domain Manager.
1. Open the Domain Manager.
  - To use the DomainManager.sh, enter the following command:
```
  product-installation-root-directory/4.1.0.0/DomainManager.sh 
```
  - To use the streamtool launch command, enter the following commands:
```
  source product-installation-root-directory/4.1.0.0/bin/streamsprofile.sh
  streamtool launch --domainmgr
```
2. Update the Security properties for the domain.
Customize user authentication by using the streamtool setloginconfig command. This command changes authentication configuration information for a domain. You must provide the information in a login configuration file.
You can use the following commands to obtain information about the login modules in a domain:
streamtool getloginconfig

This command retrieves authentication configuration information for each login module that is used by the domain. You can optionally output the information to a file.

streamtool lsloginmodule

This command lists the login modules that are installed for a domain.
