Managing agents

Manage the agent operations for the deployed IBM® Rational® Test Virtualization Server instance or the deployed IBM Rational Performance Test Server instance. These operations include starting or stopping the agent, enabling or disabling the firewall, and opening a port in the firewall.

Before you begin

Deploy IBM Rational Test Virtualization Server Pattern or IBM Rational Performance Test Server Pattern. For more information, see Deploying IBM Rational Test Virtualization Server Pattern or Deploying IBM Rational Performance Test Server Pattern.
Log in to the workload console.

Procedure

Go to the Virtual System Instances page by clicking Patterns > Pattern Instances > Virtual System Instances.
From the list of instances on the Virtual System Instances page, select IBM Rational Test Virtualization Server Pattern or IBM Rational Performance Test Server Pattern that was deployed. The details of the deployed instance are displayed.
Click Manage then Operations.
Click RTVS or RPTS.
The following operations are available:
Start Agent

Start the service for Rational Integration Tester Agent if it is not already started.

Stop Agent

Stop the service for Rational Integration Tester Agent.

Check Agent Status

Check the current status of the service for Rational Integration Tester Agent.

Enable Firewall

Enable the firewall if it is not already enabled.

Disable Firewall

Disable the firewall.

Open Port in Firewall

Open an additional port in the firewall.
Select an operation and provide the required parameters, and click Submit. The result is displayed in the Operations Execution Results pane.
