If you have a problem with your IBM® product, search the available knowledge bases
to determine whether your problem is known, has a workaround, or if
it is already resolved and documented.
Procedure
The following knowledge bases can provide information
for your product:
- IBM Knowledge Center:
IBM provides extensive
documentation in the online IBM Knowledge
Center. IBM Knowledge Center
provides quick access to product information, and are updated regularly.
- Open the IBM Knowledge Center.
- In the Table of Contents, expand the brand or section
for your product. Example: To locate Rational® DOORS®,
expand Rational.
- Select a product.
- Select a version of the product.
- IBM Rational Support website:
IBM documents known problems and
workarounds as individual technotes on its Support website. Reports
on defects that are submitted by customers are published as Authorized
Program Analysis Reports (APARs) on the Support website.
- Open the IBM Rational Support Portal.
- In the Search support and downloads section, enter your
search terms and press Enter.
- From the search results, click a document link to open
it.
Note: When you run a search from the IBM Rational Support
website, the search targets include IBM developerWorks®, and IBM newsgroups and forums.
- IBM developerWorks:
Technical
resource for developers and administrators, with product-specific
zones that provide product trials and downloads, how-to articles,
tutorials, white papers, technical forums, industry news, and developer
events.
- Open the IBM developerWorks website.
- In the Search field, enter your
search terms and press Enter.
- From the search results, click a document link to open
it.
- IBM Jazz™.net:
Online communities
to share problems, ideas, news, views, and solutions with developers
and other IBM Jazz product users.
- Open the IBM Jazz.net website.
- In the search field, enter your search terms and press Enter.
- From the search results, click a document link to open
it.
