Rational Test Control Panel User Interface

The IBM® Rational® Test Control Panel user interface is made up of several pages. Use the pages to see schedules, agents, test results, environments and recorded events, and to do adminsitrative tasks such as managing users, domains and security.

The home page is displayed initially, from which you can select the following pages:

The content on each of the pages is filtered, based on the domain that is selected.

Scheduling

The page lists any tests or suites scheduled to run in the future. Scheduled tests and suites can be paused, resumed, deleted, and run now. Tests are scheduled from Rational Integration Tester. For more information about scheduling tests from Rational Integration Tester, see Customizing or scheduling the running of a test.

Agents

This page lists all agents and proxies registered with Rational Test Control Panel. For more information, see Proxy administration. For information on how an agent registers with Rational Test Control Panel, see Registering Rational Integration Tester Agent with Rational Test Control Panel. For information on how the various proxies register with Rational Test Control Panel, see:

Results

The page shows test and suite results from any configured results database. Results databases can be configured manually through the Administration page, or indirectly, from published Rational Integration Tester projects.

Environments

The page shows a list of domains and their associated environments. For more information, see Environments.

Library

The page shows a list of recorded events that are exported from Rational Integration Tester to Rational Test Control Panel. For more information, see Managing recorded events data.

Administration

If you are an IBM Rational Test Control Panel administrator, you can perform the following administrative tasks from the Administration page:
  • Manage users. For more information, see Manage users.
  • Manage domains. For more information, see Domain management.
  • Configure connections to results databases.
  • Manage server security and create security tokens.
  • View the audit, activity, and diagnostic logs. For more information, see View logs.

Other user interface navigation elements

Other user interface navigation elements include the Profile, Logout, and Help navigation link, and the Domain list.

Support for standard web browser functionality

You can use the web browser’s Back and Forward buttons for navigation.

You can also bookmark most areas of Rational Test Control Panel for quick access to common locations. For example, if you use a particular domain/environment pair on the Environments page on a regular basis, this page can be bookmarked and displayed directly (after logging into Rational Test Control Panel) without you having to click the Environments icon or link on the Home page of Rational Test Control Panel.

Most Rational Test Control Panel pages have a five-second timer and the relevant status information is refreshed in the background. To reload a page, click the browser’s Reload button, or click the last navigation link ("breadcrumb") in the navigation bar under the logo on the Rational Test Control Panel application window.
