Testing applications on z/OS

You can test applications on IBM® z/OS® systems by using the mainframe support capabilities of IBM Rational® Integration Tester. Rational Integration Tester is installed as part of the IBM Rational Test Workbench product offering.

Rational Integration Tester supports the following features for z/OS:

CICS® Transaction Gateway recording, stubbing, and test execution
CICS Transaction Server Distributed Program Link (DPL) recording and stubbing
CICS IP interconnectivity (IPIC) recording and testing
CICS web services
IMS™ Connect recording
IMS Connect transport
WebSphere® MQ queue manager message recording
Sift-and-pass-through functionality (for more information, see Sift-and-pass-through capability)

Hardware requirements

No special hardware is needed for any of the z/OS features that are supported by Rational Integration Tester 8.5.0 (or later).

Software requirements

This section explains the software requirements for z/OS and Rational Integration Tester.

z/OS must be installed and configured. For more information, see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/zos/basics/index.jsp.

Rational Integration Tester 8.5.0 or later and IBM Rational Test Control Panel 8.5.0 or later must be installed.

The following software versions are supported:

IBM WebSphere MQ 7.0.1 and 7.1
CICS Transaction Gateway 8.0 and 8.1
CICS Transaction Server versions 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, and 5.2
IMS 12 (includes IMS Connect)

Record IMS Connect traffic by using the HTTP/TCP proxy	IBM Rational Integration Tester Platform Pack, which is installed as part of either the Rational Test Workbench or the IBM Rational Test Virtualization Server product offering. HTTP/TCP proxies
