Changing a component binding

You can change the bindings of an infrastructure component in one or more environments in the component editor. You can also use the menu or the environment editor to change the bindings.

Changing bindings by using the component editor

  1. Open the component editor (see Viewing component details) and select the Bindings tab.
  2. Click in the Binding field next to the wanted environment and select the physical resource to bind to in that environment.
  3. Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog.

Changing bindings by using the menu

  1. Right-click the component and place the cursor over the Set Binding In option. A submenu is displayed for each environment. The environment that is selected is displayed in bold.
  2. Select the name of the environment where you want to set the binding.
  3. If any physical resources are created, select the physical resource to which the selected component is to be bound. If no physical resources of the selected type exist, you can create a new physical resource by selecting the Create new resource type option.

Changing bindings by using the environment editor

  1. Open the Environment Editor in one of the following ways:
    • Click the Environment icon in the main toolbar.
    • Click the small arrow next to the Environment icon in the main toolbar and select the Edit Environments option.
    • On the menu, select the Project > Edit Environments.
  2. In the Environment Editor, select the environment from the list on the left side of the editor.

The contents of each environment are organized as Properties, Bindings, and Documentation. Change the binding as needed.
