In IBM® Rational® Integration Tester,
tests and stubs reference the logical resources in a project, so you
must create at least one logical UDP connection for each UDP transport
that you want to use.
Before you begin
Ensure that there is at least one environment in your Rational Integration Tester project.
If there are no environments, you must create one.
Procedure
- Open the Logical View of the Architecture School perspective
of Rational Integration Tester.
- On the toolbar of the Logical View, click .
The New UDP Connection window
is displayed.
- In the Name field, enter a name
for the connection.
- Click OK.
The New
UDP Connection window is closed and the new logical UDP
connection is displayed in the canvas of the Logical View.
- Optional: To bind the connection to a physical UDP server
resource in an environment, right-click the UDP connection and click or Existing UDP server in
the pop-up menu.
- Double-click the new logical UDP connection.
The UDP
Connection window is displayed.
Alternatively, right-click
the logical UDP connection and click Open in
the pop-up menu.
- If you want to associate the new logical UDP connection
with a different logical resource, complete the following tasks:
- Click Parent.
The Select
a Resource window is displayed.
- Under Logical, select a different
parent resource.
- Click OK.
The Resource
Path field on the Properties tab
of the UDP Connection window displays the updated
resource path information.
- Optional: Click the Bindings tab.
Note: As an alternative to using the Bindings tab
in the UDP Connection window, you can click in the menu bar to open the Environment Editor window
and click the Bindings tab to modify the bindings
of the selected environment.
- Optional: If you did not bind the UDP connection to a physical
UDP server resource, UNBOUND is displayed under Binding.
To bind the UDP connection, complete the following tasks:
- Clicking UNBOUND displays a list
of all physical UDP server resources in your Rational Integration Tester project.
- Select a physical UDP server resource.
Note: If
there are no physical UDP server resources displayed, you must create
one.
- Optional: Click the Monitoring tab
if you want to add a log file for the new logical UDP connection.
The log file can be monitored during the execution of a test
that involves the new logical UDP connection.
- Optional: Click the Documentation tab
if you want to enter additional information about the new logical
UDP connection.
Note: Although you do not have to enter
this additional information, it might help with the maintenance of
the resources in your Rational Integration Tester project
or it might help future users of your project.
- Click OK.
Results
The new logical UDP connection is added to your Rational Integration Tester project.
