Prepare your operating platform before installing a WebSphere® Application Server product.

About this task

Before installing the product, you must install the necessary prerequisites for your operating system. This will prepare your system for the installation.

Important: All WebSphere Application Server directories and subdirectories must be in a SINGLE file system. The product does not support splitting product directories and subdirectories into multiple file systems. This restriction applies to all product releases and associated service fixes.

Important: On 30 September 2022, the WebSphere Application Server family of products discontinued support for the Solaris and HP-UX operating systems. You can purchase extended support for these operating systems.
