Checklist: Installing WebSphere Application Server on the IBM i platform

Use this article as a checklist of steps for installing WebSphere® Application Server products on the IBM® i platform.

1. Prepare for the installation.
   1. _____ Determine if WebSphere Application Server for IBM i is already installed on your server.

      Note that you are looking for Version 9.0 only, not previous versions of the product.

   2. _____ Read the product Release Notes for the WebSphere Application Server product.
   3. _____ Schedule enough time for each step of the process.

   4. _____ Verify that your system meets all hardware and software prerequisites, and install prerequisite software if necessary.

2. Install WebSphere Application Server.

3. Configure WebSphere Application Server.
