Cognos TM1 on Cloud with Cognos TM1 Perspectives

IBM® Cognos® TM1® Perspectives is an add-in for Microsoft Excel that you run in a remote desktop session with your Cognos TM1 on Cloud system.

To run Cognos TM1 Perspectives on your cloud system, perform the following steps:

1. Connect to your cloud system with a remote desktop connection.

   For more information, see Connecting to Cognos TM1 on Cloud with a remote desktop connection.

   Tip: If the newer Windows Start menu desktop is displayed instead of the classic desktop view, click the Desktop icon or press the Windows logo key to toggle to the classic desktop view.
2. Double-click the desktop shortcut for Perspectives.
3. If the Microsoft Excel Security Notice dialog is displayed, click Enable Macros to continue.
4. In Excel, on the TM1 menu, click Connect to log in to the Cognos TM1 Server.
5. Enter the following information in the Connect to TM1 Server dialog:
   • For Server ID, select tm1.
   • For Client ID, enter your Cognos TM1 user name.
   • For Password, enter your Cognos TM1 password.
     Tip: You can log in with the TM1 Server admin account that was provided in the Cloud Welcome Kit.
   • Click OK.
6. If the login is successful, a confirmation message is displayed.
