Placing an administrative lock on the server

Administrators can place an administrative lock on the server.

About this task

An administrative lock blocks new build requests. Blocked requests are saved and start when the lock is released. Processes that are processing when the server is locked continue normal processing. When the server is unlocked, the server status is Normal; when the server is locked, the status is Administrative Lock. Administrative locks are typically used in preparation for server maintenance.

Procedure

  1. From the IBM® UrbanCode™ Build dashboard, click System, then click Server Settings.
  2. Click Maintenance
  3. Change the lock status with one of the following actions.
    • To lock the server, click Lock Server.
    • To unlock the server, click Release Lock.
    Releasing the lock starts a recovery process that begins 1 minute after the lock is released.
  4. Click Done.
