Managing notification subscriptions

You can receive email notifications whenever one of your projects run a build.

Make sure that you configure a notification scheme before you manage subscription notifications. For information about notification schemes, see Creating notification schemes.

Notifications are triggered based on build statuses that you specify. Notification might be sent whenever a build fails, for example. The notification scheme that is associated with the process determines who receives email notifications. If a notification scheme is not associated with a process, then no notifications are sent regardless of the notification subscription settings

You can use the notification subscription feature to unsubscribe to notifications that you would otherwise receive. You can elect to unsubscribe from all notifications for a project or unsubscribe from specific processes. You can also configure your user account to receive no notifications. If you unsubscribe from notifications, you will not receive any regardless of the notification subscription settings.

  1. From the IBM® UrbanCode™ Build dashboard, click Projects, then click the name of the project.
  2. In the Main page of the project, click Configuration.
  3. In the Notification Subscription field, click the name of the currently selected option. Click None if no option is selected.
For example, if the currently selected option is Default, click Default notification subscription option.
The Notification Subscription dialog box is displayed. The Notification Subscription dialog box displays lists of options for the project itself and each process that is associated with the project. You can also manage subscriptions on the individual process Configuration pages. The procedure is the same regardless of where you access the feature.
  4. Select a trigger option from the list that is associated with the project or process.
You can change options independently of each other. The options are.
    Table 1. Notification subscription options
    Option Description
Default Receive notifications based on the settings of the scheme that is associated with the process.
Failure Receive notifications only when the process fails.
    None Do not receive notifications.
Status Change Receive notification only when the build status of the process changes.
Success Receive notifications only when the process succeeds.
Success and Failure Receive notifications whenever the process succeeds or fails.
Notifications are sent to the users specified by the notification scheme whenever the triggering condition is met. Use this table to determine when notifications are sent when the project setting is different from the setting for individual processes. If you configure your user account to unsubscribe from notifications, you will not receive any notifications regardless of the subscription settings. It bears repeating that if a notification scheme is not configured for a process, no notifications are sent regardless of the notification subscription settings.
