Configuring properties common to all steps

A number of properties are common to all steps.

You can specify common property values when you create the step or edit them after the step is saved. The default values for these common properties are sufficient for most situations.
  1. From the IBM® UrbanCode™ Build dashboard, click Template, then click Jobs.
  2. Select the job with the step that you want to edit.
  3. Use the Edit icon associated with the step.
  4. Click Show Additional Options.
Use the following table to specify step property values.
    Table 1. Step common properties
    Property Description
Is Active Select No to temporarily deactivate this step without having to delete it. The default value is Yes.
Run in Parallel The step runs at the same time as adjacent steps that are also parallel. The default value is No.
Run in Preflight Select No if you do not want this step to run in preflight builds. The default value is Yes.
Run in Preflight Only Select Yes if you want to run this step only in preflight builds. The default value is No.
Pre-Condition Script Select the precondition script that must be successful before the step can run. The default value is All Prior Success.
Ignore Failures Select Yes if the step status does not affect job continuation or status. Selecting Yes means the success or failure of this step is irrelevant. The default value is No.
Post-Processing Script Specify the script that is used to determine whether the step commands fail or succeeds. To create a script, click New Script. For information about post-processing scripts, see The post-processing element.
Timeout Enter the number of minutes after the step starts when the step is considered timed out and aborted. When a step times out, it is marked as failed and job execution continues based on that outcome. The default value is 0, which means that the step never times out.
  5. Click Save.
