Option C: Use The Watson Explorer Engine API

Option C: Using the Watson Explorer Engine API
Watson Explorer Engine applications can also be written using the Watson Explorer Engine Application Programming Interface (API) through SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) or REST (Representational State Transfer) to pull or push data to your index.

The pros of using this method are that you can simply use an API call to get the information you need from your third party repository. The tradeoff is that you will actually have to do some development work in writing an application that can use the Watson Explorer Engine API. Therefore, more time and knowledge may be required, versus using some of the earlier options discussed in this section.
