Mapping the common analysis structure to the index

You can specify which text analysis results from a common analysis structure are to be made available to your applications.

About this task

Mapping analysis results from the common analysis structure makes the results available to the text analytics API, enabling them to be indexed and used to enhance Watson Explorer 360-degree view and content mining applications.

Important: Annotation Administration Console does not include an index. The custom annotator can map the structure to fields and facets that can then be used in an index, such as a Watson Explorer index.

Procedure

To map analysis results from the common analysis structure:

  1. Expand the collection that you want to configure and click Actions > Text processing options.
  2. In the Map the common analysis structure to the index area of the Text Processing Options page, click Select a mapping file.
  3. On the Select a Mapping File for this Collection page, select the mapping file that you want to use with the collection:
    • To use the default mapping rules, select Default.
    • To map analysis results from the custom common analysis structure so that the results can be returned through the text analytics API, specify the location of the mapping file. If the mapping file is on your local system, you can browse to locate the file. If the mapping file is on the server where Annotation Administration Console is installed, you must type the fully qualified path.
After you click OK, the mapping file that you added is shown on the Text Processing Options page.
