6.4.2 Release notes

IBM Tivoli Netcool Configuration Manager 6.4.2 is available. New features, fixes and known limitations are described here.

Summary of new features

Netcool Configuration Manager V6.4.2 offers the following new features:

Database
Netcool Configuration Manager V6.4.2 includes support for DB2 10.5.
Netcool Configuration Manager V6.4.2 includes support for Oracle 12C.

Netcool Configuration Manager V6.4.2 includes support for RHEL 7.
Netcool Configuration Manager V6.4.2 includes support for SUSE 11.

Installation
Netcool Configuration Manager V6.4.2 provides the ability to:
  • Install via IBM Installation Manager.
  • Install via CLI, GUI or silent modes.
  • Verify installation details and rectify mistakes before installing.

Reporting
Netcool Configuration Manager V6.4.2 includes support for TCR V3.1.2.1

Integration
Netcool Configuration Manager offers a simpler, more robust device synchronization solution between Netcool Configuration Manager and Network Manager.
Netcool Configuration Manager offers a simpler installation of the Activity Viewer and ITNCM Wizard.

New authentication options
Netcool Configuration Manager now fully supports external user registries via the WebSphere global security settings.

5134 Integration Netcool Configuration Manager bundles a subset of rules for theNetcool/OMNIbus Knowledge Library (NcKL) package, which can be installed on the Object Server. The zip file containing these rules is corrupt. An up to date version will be available from fix Central to download and use.
5030 TCR Reports Executing the Policy Compliance Score and Summary Report from NM Network view shows incorrect data in the bar chart. Run the report from the standalone TCR reports.
4139 Installation Erroneous errors are generated by Install Manager during a CLI installation. The errors are related to numbering the CLI options. No work around needed, as the errors have no impact on the installation.
4749 TCR Reports An extra line is generated at the bottom of the report none
5139 Integration NcKL rules have a typo preventing the MTTrapd probe from starting after their application. An up to date version will be available from fix Central to download and use.
5195 Integration During the install of the Dashboard components, incorrect database credentials will log an exception message to the terminal, which has no affect on the installation. none
5098 Integration Policy trap events have incorrect NmosEntityId and NmosDomainName. The traps are raised correctly, however, against the correct device names. none
4440 ITNCM Core When running the configuration archive utility, scoping by dateunits may result in some configurations on the same day not being included for archiving. Run the utility again on the following day. To ensure consistent results, run the utility at the same time each day.
