STOP command

The STOP command reads the configuration file for the specified server process and stops the server, deployment manager, node agent, administrative agent, or job manager.

Depending on the options you specify, you can launch a new Java™ virtual machine (JVM) application programming interface (API) to run the server process or write the launch command data to a file. You can run this command from the MVS™ console of a WebSphere® Application Server installation or a WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment installation.

The following examples demonstrate correct syntax:

STOP appserver_proc_name,JOBNAME=server_short_name
STOP dmgr_proc_name,JOBNAME=server_short_name
STOP nodeagent_proc_name,JOBNAME=server_short_name
STOP administrative_agent_proc_name,JOBNAME=server_short_name
STOP job_manager_proc_name,JOBNAME=server_short_name
