Associating a stop word dictionary with a collection

If stop word dictionaries are associated with the system, you can select one to use when searching a collection. If a query term matches a term in the dictionary, then that term is removed from the query before it is processed.

To associate a stop word dictionary with a collection:

1. Expand the collection that you want to configure. In the Search pane for an enterprise search collection or Analytics pane for a content analytics collection, click Configure > Search quality management.
2. On the Search Quality Management page, click Actions > Edit global configuration.
3. In the Stop word dictionary name field, select the stop word dictionary that you want to use when users query this collection.

   The list of available dictionaries includes all stop word dictionaries that were added to the system.
