If you make changes to a collection, or if you need to
troubleshoot problems, you might need to stop and restart the servers
for a collection or the entire IBM® Content
Analytics with Enterprise Search system.
You can stop the servers independently of each other.
For example, if you stop and restart a crawler to incorporate changes
that you made to its configuration, you do not need to stop and restart
the search servers.
To stop the servers for a collection:
- On the Collections view, expand the
collection that you want to administer.
- To stop one or more crawlers, go to the Crawl
and Import pane, click an icon to stop a specific crawler
or click the icon to select multiple crawlers and stop them at the
same time.
If you change the crawl space or crawler
properties, stop and restart the crawler to incorporate the changes.
If you change the crawl space and want to apply the changes to documents
that are already indexed, you must also recrawl the documents.
- To stop the parser services, go to the Parse
and Index pane and click the icon to stop the document
processing servers. If you click Details,
you can stop and restart individual document processing servers and
restart index builds.
When you change the rules for parsing data,
stop and restart the parser to incorporate the changes. The changes
apply only to newly crawled documents. To apply the changes to documents
that are already in the index, you must start a full crawl to recrawl
all of the documents or rebuild the index from the document cache.
- To stop the search servers, go to the Search pane
or Analytics pane and click the icon to stop
the search servers. If you click Details, you
can stop and restart individual search servers. Typically,
you need to stop and restart the search servers only when you change
the search cache or document summary settings.
