Note: If you install
Response Time on
SuSE SLES 10 platform, the agent might not restart automatically when
the environment restarts. You can start the agent manually with instructions
in this section.
You can also run the S99ITMAgents1 script
from the /etc directory. The script is in one of
the rc.d directories. The location varies for different
environments. Run the S99ITMAgents1 script on a restart
only when the system starts any other Response Time agents
that might have been running
You can use the GUI in both Windows and UNIX environments to start and
stop monitoring agents. You can also use the command line in UNIX.
Table 1. UNIX command line for starting and stopping
monitoring agentsCommand |
Example |
Start or stop all monitoring agents ./itmcmd agent start all
or
./itmcmd agent stop all
|
./itmcmd agent start all
or
./itmcmd agent stop all
|
Start or stop specific agents ./itmcmd agent start pc
or
./itmcmd agent stop pc
pc is
product code for the agent that you want to start or stop. - Application Management Console is t3
- Client Response Time is t4
- Web Response Time is t5
- Robotic Response Time is t6
|
./itmcmd agent start t5
or
./itmcmd agent stop t5
|
Note: When issuing the stop command on UNIX, the Web Response Time (t5) agent occasionally
gives the following error: [root@rh5ma bin]# ./CandleAgent
-h /opt/IBM/ITM -c stop t5 Stopping ITCAM for Web Response Time ...
Product t5 was not stopped. You can use option -f to
force Web Response Time to
stop, but you might lose or corrupt data! This error also sometimes
causes the remote uninstallation of the UNIX Web Response Time agent to give
an error. If this happens, first stop the T5 monitoring agent, locally
or remotely. Then perform the remote uninstall.
For additional information about the itmcmd agent command,
see the IBM Tivoli Monitoring product
documentation.
