For z/OS® SMF data sources of type zOS-SMF30, the log file splitter zOS-SMF30-Split breaks up the data into log records. The log record annotator zOS-SMF30-Annotate annotates the log records.
For data sources of type zOS-SMF30, the SMF data gatherer stores SMF data in a UNIX System Services file in a proprietary format that is similar to a log file format. The z/OS Log Forwarder retrieves this file, and the SMF data is sent to IBM® Operations Analytics - Log Analysis.
