Each z/OS® Insight Pack in IBM® Operations Analytics for z Systems extends IBM Operations Analytics - Log Analysis function
to analyze a unique type of z/OS log
data.
The following
z/OS Insight Packs are available:
- z/OS Network Insight Pack
- This Insight Pack enables Log Analysis to
perform searches against z/OS network
data, such as data that is retrieved from VTAM®, TCP/IP, or syslogd.
- z/OS SMF Insight Pack
- This Insight Pack enables Log Analysis to
ingest, and perform searches against, data that is retrieved from IBM z/OS System Management Facilities (SMF).
- z/OS SYSLOG Insight Pack
- This Insight Pack enables Log Analysis to
ingest, and perform searches against, data that is retrieved from
the z/OS SYSLOG console,
which can include data from the following sources:
- IBM DB2® for z/OS
- IBM CICS® Transaction Server for z/OS
- IBM IMS™ for z/OS
- IBM WebSphere® MQ for z/OS
- Network data from VTAM and
TCP/IP
The
z/OS SYSLOG includes
the following messages:
- Messages that are issued through write-to-log (WTL) macros
- Messages that are entered by operator LOG commands
- Messages that are routed to the SYSLOG from any system component
or program
This Insight Pack includes support for data that is retrieved
from the CICS Transaction Server for z/OS MSGUSR
job log and syslogd.
- WebSphere Application Server for z/OS Insight Pack
- This Insight Pack enables Log Analysis to
ingest, and perform searches against, logging data that is retrieved
from WebSphere Application Server for z/OS.
