IBM® UrbanCode™ Deploy can use
cloud systems to create dynamic environments. You must use the blueprint design server to integrate
with some types of clouds.
Connecting to clouds through OpenStack Heat
To create a connection to a cloud through OpenStack Heat, specify the location of the
identity server and the engine to use. You must use the blueprint designer to create these
connections. The steps are different for each type of cloud.
Connecting engines to Keystone servers
If you have an engine that is configured to work with the blueprint design server, you
can connect it to a Keystone server for a new cloud.
Integrating with Chef
Chef can automate infrastructure tasks, such as installing databases and application
servers. By integrating the blueprint designer with Chef, you can apply Chef roles to images
in blueprints. When you provision environments, the environments run the Chef automation
scripts that are based on those roles.
