Configuring Windows UAC

Depending on the User Account Control (UAC) settings, you might not be able to install IBM® UrbanCode™ Release on Windows™ Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012.

UAC is a security feature of the Windows operating system that limits application software from performing unauthorized activities. Applications that users with administrative privileges run do not automatically inherit those privileges. This feature can prevent required files from being created or modified during IBM UrbanCode Release installation. If you are installing IBM UrbanCode Release on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012, turn off UAC before installing the product.
To turn off UAC:
  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
  2. In the Search Control Panel box, type uac.
  3. Click Change User Account Control settings.
  4. Move the slider to the Never notify position, and then click OK.
  5. Restart your computer.
